The Florida Aquarium, Tampa Bay Butterfly Foundation and FWC's Suncoast Youth Conservation Center are looking for volunteers to assist with habitat maintenance at Center for Conservation site of the Florida Conservation and Technology Center in Apollo Beach (529 Estuary Shore Lane) as well as their Adopt a Road site along Dickman Road. Butterfly Walk at Gadsen Park: Feb. 26

Gadsen Park 6901 S MacDill Ave, Tampa, FL, United States

Join Tampa Bay Butterfly Foundation and NABA Tampa Bay on a butterfly walk to continue our monthly monitoring of butterfly species at Gadsen Park located at 6901 S MacDill Ave in South Tampa. We will meet under the trees North of the softball field at the back of the park. There is ample parking back there.  View Gadsen Park map.Plan for the outdoors, heat, mosquitoes, no-see-ums, getting feet wet if you don’t wear the right shoes to avoid it. Bring plenty of water to drink and a snack if you want.This will be free for NABA members; non-NABA members fee: $5 (payment required morning of event).This event is subject to change due to weather. Local Stories Live! – March 10

March is Women’s History month.  Register to attend in person or watch via Facebook as Anita Camacho is featured as one of the business leaders at the Hillsborough County’s Entrepreneur Collaborative Center (ECC) discussion on Friday. The event will showcase Hillsborough County's Small Business Community as well as share best practices with existing and start-up small businesses. The 30 minute discussions will be followed by a brief question and answer period. Connect with Hillsborough County’s small business community and learn why supporting local makes all the difference.

Gardening with Native Plants

Learn how to garden with native plants and select plants that are native to our Florida environment. Find out why native plants are beneficial for a healthy garden and our ecosystem, including providing food to support pollinators and a habitat for wildlife. Anita Camacho will share her expertise of native wildflowers, perennials, shrubs and trees suitable for planting in our Tampa Bay environment. This class will be co-taught by Tia Silvasy, Residential Horticulture Agent at UF/IFAS Extension. You may attend in person or via zoom.
