KIDS' CORNER

THE ADVENTURE AWAITS!

Children in Kindergarten to Grade 5 will discover nature and wildlife while learning to care for our environment with our Monday Bug Club and during school breaks with Nature Camp programs. Every camper will get an opportunity to release a butterfly by the end of the camp (weather permitting).

MONTHLY BUG CLUB

Get ready for Bug Club! Each month we will explore new insects, plants, and reptiles that can exist in Florida. Club participants will get the chance to become a citizen scientist and participate or conduct experiments a biologist would perform through research lab simulations. Make sure to pack a snack and a water bottle. Kids will be outside for about a half an hour during our Bug Club.  Drop off: 1:00 – 1:30 pm; pick up: 3:00 – 3:15 pm.

SEPTEMBER BUG CLUB: Get ready to dive into the world of one of North Americas rarest insects. We will explore the habitat of the Miami Blue Butterfly, their life cycle, why they have scales on their wing, why ants are some of their best friends and how they became one of North America's most endangered insects.

2023 NATURE CAMPS

This fall we are offering three camps during Hillsborough County Public School breaks.  Kindergarten to Grade 5 students will participate from 8:30 am to 2:30 pm in bug hunts, crafts, meet animal ambassadors and much more! Camps are held at the Tampa Bay Butterfly Foundation Gallery located at 4111-A Henderson Blvd. in South Tampa.  Drop off time is between 8:00 – 8:30 am and campers must be picked up between 2:30 – 3:00 pm. If an event is cancelled due to hurricanes, inclement weather or a catastrophic event, a refund minus the credit card fee will be issued.
