An oak tree is more than a shady picnic spot, or a great place for a tire swing.  The mighty oak is its own ecosystem.  Did you know that one oak can be home to 500 butterflies and moths!?! Sssssslither and ssssslide into the habitat this week as we learn about water, and land snakes in the Tampa Bay Area.  Campers will learn how to identify them, where they live, their benefits and what they eat. We’ll have lots of silly snake visitors this week, too! We will study native bugs, and pollinators, and why they are so important to us. Campers will learn the important role bees have in food production. Get ready for some fun as we search for native bugs, build a ladybug habitat, and conduct cool experiments! Looking for one last blast before school starts?  This is the 2-day camp for you.  Get ready to leap into the new school year, as we focus on lizards, and other reptiles. Campers will get to meet our reptile ambassadors and will create a moving caterpillar out of paper.  We will also talk about butterflies in their ecosystem.  Every child will get an opportunity to release a butterfly by the final day of camp (weather permitting).
