Butterfly Walk at MacDill 48 Park
Sunday, March 1st |
9:00 AM – 11:00 AM
6301 Martindale Ave, Tampa, FL 33611
Join us for a guided butterfly walk through one of Tampa’s newest and most ecologically diverse parks! We’ll meet at the entrance to the park at 9:00 AM, and the walk will last approximately 2 hours.
MacDill 48 Park, which opened in November 2024, features a mile-long trail winding through beautiful natural wetlands and showcases a wide variety of Florida native plants and butterflies.
This 48-acre hidden gem includes:
Oak hammocks
Pine flatwoods
Shrub swamps
Wild citrus groves
Natural bayhead forest — home to a giant magnolia tree
Whether you're a seasoned naturalist or just looking to enjoy a peaceful morning in nature, this walk is a fantastic opportunity to experience multiple Florida ecosystems all in one place.
Bring water, sun protection, and your curiosity!
We look forward to seeing you there.
This will be $5 for NABA and TBBF members; non-NABA and non-TBBF members fee: $10. CLICK HERE TO REGISTER.
